Day 11/100, Sentimental Soup

Day Eleven 4-13-18 farmers market

Sentimental Soup

I made this quilt in 2014, using scraps from previous quilts. They were mostly traditional quilts, and I wanted this quilt to reflect a transition into modern quilting while paying homage to the past.  I even quilted it free motion on my machine — a relatively new approach for me.

The location is the City Market in Petersburg, Virginia. The building is unique because it is octagonal.

Just discovered your blog. I grew up on a small Iowa farm and learned to drive on a Ford tractor like the one photographed. Brought a tear or two. Great quilt and fun quilting.
