Magnolia Acuminata
The pattern is The Grove by Carolyn Friedlander. I turned the blocks so that they would look like roots. I made a row for each season: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Football.
The location is the Violet Bank Museum in Colonial Heights, Virginia.
The tree was planted in 1718 and is the second largest Magnolia Acuminata in the world. (The largest is in Stark County, Ohio).
Wow, what a special tree! And, your quilt hanging in it is equally special!
