QuiltCon: the ice bucket challenge

WALKING and standing at QuiltCon should be an Olympic sport. I walked so much I got blisters on the heels of my feet. I can’t remember the last time I had a foot blister.

My hotel was a one-mile walk to the Pasadena Convention Center, much longer than I was expecting. I wore supportive and comfortable shoes. But it wasn’t enough.

At the end of Thursday, the first official day, my feet needed attention. I filled my hotel ice bucket with ice and poured the ice in the bathtub. Then ran cold water.

Such relief. I cannot describe it. Now I know why athletes sit in ice baths.

In honor of the QuiltCon Ice Bucket Challenge, I’m donating to the ALS Association. If your feet hurt from QuiltCon, consider making a donation.

I’m back at my sedentary job, and my feet are resting until next time.

Happy Feet,

Wanda
