Day 14/100, What the F-Stop

I’m doing The 100-Day Project at the same time I’m Spring Cleaning/Curating. I’ve organized tools and cleaned out the sewing closet. The last project in my sewing space—-these PILES of scraps.

I’m a piler and a sorter. I sort then I throw what I’ve sorted into a pile. I have a selvage pile, a strings pile, a solid color pile, a prints pile and a teeny tiny scraps pile. I’m feeling a little “mad” about this.

I took this photo using the self-timer on my camera. I’m impressed with the blurry background! I wanted my makeup to reflect how I’m feeling about this project.

Day 13/100, Swap Art

Quilt swaps are very popular in the online world and among guild members. For 2018, I promised myself I would not do any more. I love the ones I’ve received, but making them is stressful. So, I’m savoring the beautiful work here.

Day 11/100, Sentimental Soup

Day Eleven 4-13-18 farmers market

Sentimental Soup

I made this quilt in 2014, using scraps from previous quilts. They were mostly traditional quilts, and I wanted this quilt to reflect a transition into modern quilting while paying homage to the past.  I even quilted it free motion on my machine — a relatively new approach for me.

The location is the City Market in Petersburg, Virginia. The building is unique because it is octagonal.
