The day The 100 Day Project began I was in Kingsport, Tennessee visiting my daughter. The previous day, my husband and I had moved her piano from our house to her. So I didn’t officially start The 100 Day Project until Friday,
I used two photos from my trip as inspiration for improv blocks.
Then I used photos from home to make the next five blocks.
The 100 Day Project 2019 begins Tuesday, April 2. It’s an online art challenge, mostly on Instagram. My Instagram account name is WandasLifeSamper.
Last year I did 100 Days of Quilt Photography. I’ve been mulling over a theme for this year’s challenge. I first thought I would make blocks for my Living Appalachia project which I said I was going to do last year after attending QuiltCon. But, that project isn’t right for The 100 Day Project.
Next, I thought I would work on blocks for the Central Virginia MQG’s Triangle Challenge. But, I didn’t want to do the same thing every day.
Finally, I settled on making improv blocks and finish a quilt I started recently using red and white fabric. I plan to explore other colors and see where a limited color palette can take me. I may switch to doing something else if I get bored. Here’s the 42” block I made recently:
